First of all, did you know that according to National Associations of Realtor (NAR) statistics homes sold with the help of a real estate professional sold for an average of 16 percent more?  This is based on transactions in 2005 and can be found at http://www.realtor.org/research.nsf/pages/fsbofacts.  Taking into consideration the average real estate commission of 6%, that means that the typical FSBO gets 10% less for their home at the end of the transaction. 


Of those people who did sell their home FSBO, half said they would not try to do so again.  Reasons for this vary from the difficulty of thansaction, the amount of time required to market and show property to interested buyers, to security concerns that comes along with strangers walking through their homes.
