Ways to Spruce Up Your Home

Make your home more appealing to potential buyers with these quick and easy tips.

First Impressions are important:  
·         Plant flowers in bed that bloom during that season 
·         Put pots of bright flowers on your porch and deck.
·         Edge the grass around walkways and trees. 
·         Trim and shape bushes so they don't block windows and cut down on light. 
·         Buy a new "Welcome" mat for your front door. 
·         Put new doorknobs and deadbolts on your doors. 
·         Buy a new mailbox. 
·         Upgrade your outside lighting. 
·         Repaint the front door. 
·         Clean your gutters. 
·         Think about hiring a lawn service to keep your yard looking its best.   

Inside the house: 
·         Use warm, incandescent light bulbs for a homey feel. 
·         Put out potpourri, bake cookies, or burn scented candles.
·         Buy new pillows for the sofa. 
·         Buy a new neutral comforter for the master bedroom 
·         Make your bed every morning "hotel" style. 
·         Make a centerpiece for your table with fruit or flowers. 
·         Replace heavy curtains with sheer ones that let in more light 
·         Replace outdated blinds with sheer curtains or lightweight bamboo shades.
·         Buy new white, fluffy towels for the bathrooms. 
·         Be sure kids put away their toys and dirty clothes. 
·          Rent a carpet cleaner and remove stains from the carpet. 
·         Replace an old dirty, beat-up vinyl floor with a new peel-and-stick vinyl tile floor.
·         Replace outdated interior lighting with more modern fixtures. 
·         Remove clutter from rooms-prepack items you do not need for everyday living. 
·         Replace family pictures with more neutral art, leaving only a few family photos up. 
·         Keep pet food, toys, and litter boxes out of sight as much as possible. 
·         Clean windows to let more sunlight in. 
·         Have a deep cleaning day, invite friends, family, or even hire a team of cleaners.   
·         Dust fans, light fixtures, blinds, etc. 
·          Repaint dark rooms or freshen up paint jobs that are damaged. 
·         Repaint trim bright white to make it stand out.
